Meet Our Team

Reggie Jackson

Founding Principal

Reggie D. Jackson has undeniably made his mark in education, boasting an extensive career
spanning almost a quarter of a century. He commenced as a special education teacher and was
soon elevated to the esteemed role of department chair. Having previously worked as an assistant principal at Getwell Elementary and Ridgeway Middle, Reggie confidently transitioned into the principalship, assuming the role of Principal at Craigmont Middle School. Under his leadership,he utilized a diversified approach to student-level data to drive instructional programming and establish a positive school culture. As principal, he was recognized for building strong, trusting relationships with stakeholders and educational partners locally and nationally. Upon being recognized as TVAAS Level Five School for Literacy and Numeracy for multiple years, the school advanced to receive the State of Tennessee Reward School designations for consecutive years. In 2009, Reggie's appointment as a Board Trustee for the Association of Middle-Level Education provided him an opportunity to serve as an advocate for the socio-emotional needs of students for five years. Reggie was recognized as the West Tennessee Principal of the Year in 2011 by the Tennessee Association of Middle Schools. In 2023, Reggie was recognized as Supervisor of the Year in Memphis Shelby County Schools. The Tennessee Department of Education also selected Reggie as a region-level semi finalist for the 2023 - 2024 State Supervisor of the Year.

Reggie diligently pursued knowledge throughout his life, persistently enhancing his abilities and
education to tackle fresh obstacles and capitalize on every possibility. He utilized his transferable study skills, such as organization, time management, and problem-solving, to manage them successfully. He received his Master of Education in Special Education from the University of Central Arkansas and a Bachelor of Science in Special Education from the University of Central Arkansas. Reggie also received endorsements in Education Administration from the University of Arkansas Little Rock. In addition, he participated in the Center for Urban School Leadership Fellowship through the University of Memphis in 2007 and the National Superintendent’s Academy in 2018.

Reggie Jackson was selected to serve as an Instructional Leadership Director in July of 2013,
where he balanced the principal supervisor and coach role. Under his leadership, six of the nine schools he supervised improved student growth scores during the 2017 – 2018 school year, with four schools receiving the state's highest growth rating. After transitioning to Director of School Operations, he was selected to serve as Assistant Superintendent of Academic Operations and School Support with the Memphis Shelby County Schools District in May 2019. Reggie contributes to education by being a strategist, systems thinker, leadership coach, active listener, and effective communicator.

On a mission to maintain dignity for all, he is focused on improving responsiveness and creating
a sustainable legacy of impact. Influenced by self-empowerment, global-awareness, and
organizational empathy, he aspires to be a leadership coach for novice educational leaders in the next stage of his career. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends and watching the Arkansas Razorbacks in his spare time.
